Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 1 Release Date Rumors: When is Episode 45 Coming?

Demon Slayer Season 3 is one of the most anticipated upcoming anime, and fans are ready for the release date to come around. Episode 45 of the series will start the Swordsmith Village Arc that comes hot off the back of the Entertainment District Arc and puts Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Nezuko to the test once again.

Demon Slayer Season 3 release date rumors

The Demon Slayer Season 3 release date isn’t officially set, but most fans are speculating episode 45 will drop in Spring 2023. We got a teaser for Demon Slayer Season 3 shortly after the Entertainment District Arc concluded, which revealed that the next part of the anime to be adapted for the anime is the Swordsman Village Arc.

The first season was two cour and aired from October 2019 to May 2020. The second didn’t hit the air until October 2021 and was again a two cour season. The two-year gap was likely caused by COVID 19 (and the release of the movie), and we don’t anticipate that the wait will be that long again.

How many episodes will the third season have?

With what little information we have, we’ll estimate that Demon Slayer Season 3 will consist of 12-18 episodes. So far, we only know that the Swordsmith Village Arc is being adapted for the third season. It took up 28 chapters in the manga, compared to 30 for the Entertainment District Arc, so we can assume it’ll be a minimum of 12 episodes. However, Ufotable could make this another two cour season by adapting the smaller arc that comes as they did with the Mugan Train Arc.

Where will Demon Slayer Season 3 stream?

Since Sony acquired Crunchyroll last year, things have been a bit confusing for anime distribution. The first two seasons of Demon Slayer were licensed by Aniplex and could be streamed via Funimation or Crunchyroll. However, with how popular this series is, we could see a bidding war for streaming rights for the third season. For now, we can assume it’ll come to Crunchyroll at the very least.
